In our second week of doing this, we have been blessed with some new releases of the absolute highest order, as well as some that aren’t as good. New singles have come from the likes of BROCKHAMPTON (again), The Chainsmokers (sigh) and DJ Khaled, who appears to be gearing up for I’m The One 2: Electric Boogaloo, but more on that later. Welcome to Viberant’s weekly song roundup; where we take a look at some of the big releases over the past seven days and tell you our thoughts on them. Last week saw new singles from the likes of BROCKHAMPTON, Muse and of course, The 1975. Here is what we thought of them:
2017 was an absolutely unbelievable year for rap and music in general. We saw stellar releases from Kendrick Lamar, Vince Stapes, Tyler the Creator and Joey Bada$$. My one critique is that despite rap being on amazing form, R&B matched it and maybe even beat it. SZA, Miguel and Daniel Caesar all brought out great albums.
